Coach Jacksen F Tiago's strategy of throwing everyone into defense, almost came off. Playing seven at the back was effective in the first half but nonetheless, goalkeeper Kurnia Meiga still needed to make plenty of saves to keep his side in the game at halftime.
Around 70,000 gathered at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium to enjoy the game and must have left disappointed. In some corners of the stadium, there were banners even thanking the Netherlands squad which goes to show the shocking state of Indonesian football.
