Norway will sign the ASEAN Treaty of Amity and Cooperation (TAC) to foster the relationship between Norway and the regional organization, a top Norwegian diplomat says

'Wewill sign the TAC during the ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meetingand the ASEAN Regional Forum meeting in Brunei Darussalam,' NorwegianAmbassador to Indonesia Stig Traavik told The Jakarta Post.
The TAC,also known as the Bali Concord I, was first signed by allASEAN members in 1976 in Bali. It was amended in 1996 to allow non-SoutheastAsian countries to accede to the treaty. So far 31 countriesfrom across the globe signed the TAC and Norway would become 32ndmember of the treaty.
The ASEANForeign Ministers' Meeting will kick off on Saturday inBandar SeriBegawan, Brunei. The Post Ministerial Conference, 20th ASEAN Regional Forum (ARF)and 3rd East Asia Summit Foreign Ministers' Meeting will rununtil July 2.

collaboration and coalition between ASEAN and
Dialogue
partners,' ASEAN Secretary-General Le Luong Minh
said in the statement.
