On a bright Wednesday morning, with a strong wind blowing and the constant drones of aircraft taking off and landing at Ngurah Rai International Airport, a religious ceremony to consecrate the island's first toll road was solemnly performed.
Hundreds of Balinese Hindu devotees from seven customary villages around the new toll road, which
connects Benoa Harbor-Ngurah Rai International Airport-Nusa Dua, took part in the ceremony, locally known as tawur gentuh and pemelaspasan.
Your comments:
The speed at which this toll road has been constructed is the envy of the engineering world and all involved in the project should be justly proud.
It would have been easy to have abandoned this project when 'do good environmentalists' decided to involve themselves.
All credit to Governor Pastika and the various Balinese agencies that have made a dream become a reality as it signals to all who use the road what can be achieved with vision.
