gus Susatyo, a prison guard atYogyakarta Penitentiary (locally known as the Wirogunan Prison) was shot by anunidentified armed man on Wednesday night. The guard was rushed to PantiRapih Hospital to be treated for bullet wounds to the chest and abdomen.
'He was sitting on his house porch when two men riding an automatic scooter came to his house. The passenger shot him,' head of Yogyakarta's Law and Human Rights Ministry office Rusdianto said on Thursday.
He said Agus had worked in the prison kitchen for 20 years.
Commenting on the incident, Yogyakarta Police spokesperson Adj. Sr. Comr. Anny Pujiastuti said the police were still collecting evidence to aid the investigation.
'At this time we are still examining all related evidence, including the bullet casing [left at the scene],' she said.(dic)
