KPK searches oil ministry'€™s secretary general'€™s office following Rudi'€™s arrest

heCorruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators moved fast by searchingthe office of the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry'€™s secretary general inconnection with the bribery charges that has seen former SKK Migas chief RudiRubiandini named as a suspect.

Secretary general Waryono Karyo acknowledged that he was '€œclueless'€ regarding the reasons for the raid on his office.

'€œI really have no idea why the KPK investigators are searching my office. I don'€™t know what they have taken from my office,'€ he said

When he was asked about the allegation that the money in Rudi'€™s hands was supposed to be given to the Energy and Mineral Resources minister through him, Waryono said, '€œOh God, there is no such thing. In God'€™s name, that is impossible.'€

Besides Rudi, the KPK has also named Simon G Tanjaya, an officer of Kernel Oil, a registered oil trader based in Singapore and Ardi, a golf trainer, as suspects in the bribery case.

The KPK had also requested the Immigration directorate general to prevent Agoes Sapto Rahardjo Murdi Hartono, the head of oil, gas and condensates commercialization division of SKKMigas, SKKMigas'€™ gas commercialization division head Popi Ahmad Nafis and Iwan Ratman, the head of operational support division of SKKMigas, from leaving the country due to the investigation.(dic)
