ndonesian Military (TNI) Commander Adm. Agus Suhartono inaugurated theCenter for International Cooperation Division on Thursday, a new department atthe Military Headquarters which would manage its foreign affairs, on Thursday.
Tribunnews.com reported that the formation of the new department was based on Presidential Decree No.10/2010 on the formation of a new organization.
The new division is headed by Col. Suselo who used to serve under the TNI operational division.
The new division will manage international cooperation and act as the single database center at the Headquarters office, which is expected to ease the work of the Military Commander in collecting information, as well as monitoring and evaluating any international affairs within the military institution.
During Thursday's inauguration ceremony, Agus said that the database center would function as an International Protocol and Protective Bureau for the Indonesian National Defense Forces.
Agus added that he would strengthen the competences of TNI personnel as current international affairs involved complex issues, not only defense and security, but also politics and economy. (hrl)
