American pop duo Karmin said they could hardly wait to finally release their long awaited first full-length album Pulses, which missed its initial release date in November last year.

Production for their album had begun mid last year, and was set to be released a few months later.

'€œThe album was supposed to come out late in the summer, and then [delayed again to] late fall. Now we are not sure. We'€™re having serious talks with our label Epic Records right now,'€ Nicholas Louis '€œNick'€ Noonan, the male half of the duo, said in a recent phone interview.

Earlier, the band admitted that the album had been completed, but were struggling to settle on a release date for the full record.

'€œWe want to get it out as soon as possible but sometimes it'€™s not that simple. We don'€™t have a specific date yet, but we think that it'€™s going to be released either by the end of this year or very early next year,'€ said Nick.

Nick and his partner Amy Heidemann '€“ both graduates of the esteemed Berklee College of Music '€“ got their start by remixing pop hits and uploading their cover videos on Youtube. In the videos, Nick plays the instruments, while Amy sings and raps songs by well-known artists such as Nicki Minaj and Katy Perry.

The duo made their viral break after posting a cover of Chris Brown'€™s '€œLook at Me Now'€, which showcased Amy'€™s lyrical speed and unique singing style, in April 2011.

A few months later they both were signed by veteran talent spotter LA Reid under Epic Records.

'€œWe really have no idea it was going to happen like that. When we started Karmin, we played different instruments. I did not play the piano, Amy did not play guitar or rap.

'€œWhen we started making music together, we just wanted to evolve.  We had no idea it was going to turn out the way that it did; it just kind of exploded and became a massive step forward,'€ Nick said.

In May 2012, the duo released their first EP under Epic Records titled Hello. The EP'€™s first single '€œBrokenhearted'€ ended up being their first song to enter Billboard Hot 100, where it peaked at #16.

Nick said that Hello was more Amy-centric and they tried to share the spotlight in their album.

'€œThe EP was much more Amy, but this one will feature both of us more. It has a lot of live instruments on it with a band coming in and playing on each song during the recording. Each song has a lot of energy, so we want to make sure that when we play these songs live it will be as big as imagined them,'€ he said.

Nick and Amy are a couple in real life. They met and formed the band when they were in college. In 2010, they got engaged.

'€œIt'€™s very difficult working together as a couple, because we'€™re always together 24 hours a day. We'€™re very passionate and focused on Karmin, so a lot of the time our relationship gets neglected. It'€™s ignored a lot of the time,'€ Amy said.

The couple had been planning to get married, but then decided to push back the wedding to focus on their full-length album and the subsequent tours.

Karmin will be performing at the annual urban music festival, L.A. Lights Java Soulnation Festival 2013, in Jakarta in the first weekend of October.

'€œThis is the first time we'€™re going to be in Indonesia, we'€™re actually pumped. We cannot wait,'€ said Nick.

Amy echoed his sentiments and hoped to catch some time off while in the country.

'€œHopefully we can have a day off in Indonesia, have a day in Bali. Enjoy ourselves and try to go on a date, get some dinner and hang out on the beach,'€ she said.
