Text your say: KPK arrests Andi Mallarangeng

our comments on the arrest by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) of former youth and sports minister Andi Mallarangeng, who was named a suspect about a year ago for his alleged involvement in corrupt practices in the construction of Hambalang sports center:

Bismar Siregar, the late prominent judge, once said: '€œIt'€™s better to free a guilty man than jail an innocent one'€.

I hope that the investigation of Andi by the KPK will be just.

The arrest of Andi shows how meticulous the KPK is in its work.

In spite of the show Andi provided among the ministers, the KPK nevertheless could still trace Andi'€™s participation in the case, which lead to his arrest.

Leaders'€™ morale should in any case be strong and shouldn'€™t be influenced by the lower echelons who use political reasons to justify their corrupt urges, which in the end is all about personal aggrandizement.

Leaders should really be strong and be able to lead their flocks
to a better pasture without hurting others.

With leaders in jail we are actually going nowhere to improve the nation. Can we still afford to take
a wrong turn in 2014?

I belief it is not just about who is corrupt and takes money, but how much! Everybody takes money, some more, some less. The problem is actually very simple.

Nobody is interested in cleaning it up. Everybody thinks in the same way: '€œI want to have a clean government but let me get my share first, then we'€™ll clean it up!'€

Pauloh

We cannot blame those people who do such a thing, but instead we should come back to what we believe in: building up this beloved country. Come back to ourselves.

Chaaya

Keep pressing on, KPK. Do not hold back in prosecuting all those traitors!

Topic of the day

Sluggish bureaucracy

Acting as someone who wanted to register a small enterprise at an East Jakarta municipal office, Governor Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo found no staff or officials able to deal with the matter. Why is bureaucracy so difficult to reform?
