usician Ahmad Dhani said he was now strapped for cash after shelling out about Rp 2 billion (US$182,000) to pay for the medical bills of the 13 survivors and giving donations to the families of seven victims in the accident.
'This case has led to me paying out Rp 2 billion. I've done this to show my responsibility to the victims, not to dodge criminal punishment,' he said as quoted by tempo.co.
'But now I no longer have money. I even had to call a TV station to pay my fee. I needed the money to pay for one of the victims' surgery,' he said.
Dhani said he also did not have enough money to pay for more treatment for his son, 13, who was still recuperating. 'I don't have money to do more for my son. If he is to be thrown in jail, I cannot do much.'
