An officer with the East Java Police, identified as First. Brig. Bambang Setiawan, has died from three gunshot wounds to the chest in what the National Police are saying was a suicide.

The police say guilt over stealing a small amount of cash from his neighbor in the past had driven Bambang to take his own life with a V-2 automatic rifle while on duty at the Nganjuk Police compound in East Java on Sunday night.

How was it possible for him to shoot himself in the chest three times with a rifle?

No witnesses, no apparent reason to commit suicide (except the cloudy allegation by fellow police officers). It looks like this poor policeman was executed.
