est Java's Karawang Police have named amotorcyclist who yelled at the police after being stopped for not wearing ahelmet a suspect for insulting and offensive behavior.
The man, who has been identified as Sahal, is currently being questioned by the police.
'We have gained enough evidence to name him a suspect,' Karawang Police Criminal Investigations Division head Adj. Comr. Mirza Maulana said on Thursday as quoted by Antara news agency.
He said the police had questioned eight suspects and were looking at a video recording showing Sahal losing his temper with a police officer.
Commenting on the matter, Sahal acknowledged that he was wrong.
'I was out of line and for that I am sorry. Let's not make a big deal out of it,' he said.
The police attempted to ticket Sahal last week in Karawang, but he rejected the ticket and started yelling at the police officer and reportedly acted abusively.
Sahal said he would be a lot safer wearing a turban than a helmet and therefore did not intend to wear a helmet while driving. The entire incident was recorded and the video went viral on YouTube.
If proven guilty, Sahal could spend nine months in prison.(dic)
