Veteran actress Christine Hakim managed to do just fine despite limited facilities and bad weather while shooting her latest film, Retak Gading (Ivory Crack), in Tidore, North Maluku.

Christine said she did her own makeup and dressed herself for the duration of filming.

'€œOne time we were shooting at a traditional market near the port in Tidore. It was Sunday, so there was no business. I put on makeup and changed clothes near the meat stalls,'€ the actress told tempo.co in Jakarta.

Christine said she was excited to film in North Maluku. '€œThe culture and nature are very beautiful there. I hope the film can help promote tourism there,'€ she said.

Retak Gading tells the story of a love triangle that also stars Chelsy Liven, Amar Alruvi and
Detri Warmanto,
and will premiere on Feb. 13.
