Roaring wins for Lions, Tigers and WISCI

fter a month of rain affected matches, all three matchesplayed this weekend went the distance. WISCI consolidated its numero unoposition, while Senayan Lions and Senayan Tigers both mauled their respectiveopponents in the Apple Coal JCA League 2013-2014.

At Jakarta, WISCI'€™s run machine Viraj Bhammar came up with his fourth unbeaten knock out of eight innings that he has played this season, to set up a comfortable six-wicket win over India XI. Sent into bat first, India XI did well to score 204/7 in 35 overs, with important contributions from Rahul Pagad (46), Manoj Arora (36), Sreedhar (33) and Pallav (32). With changeable weather conditions, WISCI batsmen were well ahead of the run rate, scoring 85/2 in 12 overs, 165/4 in 24 overs before sealing the victory in the 28th over. Viraj made 89 not out and JP scored 48 runs.

At last lady luck smiled on Senayan Lions as they finally got a win after 3 washouts. The Lions thrashed the Challengers by 6 wickets with 17 overs to spare in match held in Cibubur. Batting first, the Challengers stuttered to 126/9 in 35 overs. The Lions completed the formalities, losing 4 wickets. Irfan Raza scored 53 runs.

Meanwhile at Karawaci, Senayan Tigers continued their impressive run of form by beating Metro Indians by 73 runs. Electing to bat first Tigers posted a fighting 167/7 in 33 overs. Sachin Gopalan scored 32 and Ramdoni scored an unbeaten 27 runs while Anandalwar took 3 wickets. Metro Indians were placed well at 53/3 in 11 overs and thereafter lost the plot as they were bowled out for 94 in 26 overs. Desandra took 4 wickets.
