ASEAN member countries as well as Japan, China, South Korea and five international organizations attended the meeting. Meanwhile, representatives of the US, Australia, India and the European Union also attended as observers.
'Palestinian people have been struggling to achieve independence for more than five decades,' said Yudhoyono, underlining the importance of the forum in giving momentum to the world's commitment to supporting Palestine.
Yudhoyono also expressed his hope that other Middle Eastern countries currently facing conflict could soon achieve peace.
During the meeting, CEAPAD II participants were expected to mull concrete contributions to the capacity building programs that will be provided to Palestine, based on the needs of the Palestinian people. (idb/dic)
