ilots from the Indonesian Air Force are undergoing the type rating course for the Airbus A400M Atlas military transport aircraft while the country’s first aircraft successfully conducted its maiden flight in Seville, Spain.
Four Indonesian Air Force pilots are taking the type rating course at Airbus’s International Training Center (ITC) from July 16 to Oct. 25. The pilots are Maj. Putut Satriya, Maj. Riki Sihaloho, Capt. Fathir Muhammad Hadiid and Capt. Indra Kusuma N., the Air Force announced on its official Instagram account @militer.udara.
The training program includes several phases, from computer-based training (CBT), flight training devices (FTD) and full flight simulator (FFS). After completing the ground training phase, the pilots will be taking turns in conducting flying training using the A400M aircraft.
After conducting the training in Spain and when the aircraft arrives in Indonesia toward the end of this year, the four pilots will continue their training program with initial operation experience (IOE) in the Halim training area for one month.
Meanwhile, Indonesia’s first Airbus A400M Atlas military transport aircraft has successfully conducted its maiden flight, Airbus said in a press release on Aug. 1.
The aircraft took off from Airbus Defense and Space’ facility in Seville, Spain, where the A400M was assembled at the Final Assembly Line (FAL) and had undergone a number of ground tests.
