'€œAll of a sudden, the committee asked us to leave the waiting room. I don'€™t know why,'€ Gerindra Party deputy secretary-general Sudaryono, who was with Prabowo, said.

He said a group of journalists who had planned to cover the event had also been prevented from entering the meeting room.

When asked about Prabowo'€™s reaction, Sudaryono acknowledged that the party patron was a bit disappointed because he had missed out on an opportunity to speak with student boards from across the archipelago.

University rector Eddy Soeryanto Soegoto said that the students owed him explanation: '€œWe were only there because we had been invited.'€

Chairman of Unikom student board Andri Lukman provided no explanation.

Student boards from all over Indonesia were meeting in Bandung. Unikom had been appointed as the host university.(dic)
