tate run port operator PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Pelindo III) will begin trial operations at its US$3.4 trillion (US$299 million) Teluk Lamong multipurpose terminal in East Java next month.
Pelindo III president director Djarwo Surjanto said that two units of Ship to Shore Crane (STS), five units of Automated Stacking Crane (ASC), and one unit of Automotive Terminal Tractor (ATT) were scheduled to arrive between the end of April and early May.
"The equipment is on the way from countries such as China, Spain, Finland, France and Romania," Djarwo said in a statement made available to The Jakarta Post on Thursday, adding that the trial operations would be carried out in mid-May.
He said that other installation equipment, such as cables, optic fibers, and terminal supporting equipments had arrived in Surabaya and were currently going through steps to get clearance at Tanjung Perak Port's custom and excise office.
Teluk Lamong was built to support East Java's hub, Tanjung Perak Port, which has seen increasing traffic every year. (nfo)
