JAKARTA: Pop band Alexa has recorded a cover the song that was made popular by legendary singer Titiek Puspa, "Marilah Kemari' (Come Here), to be the soundtrack for Mari Lari (Let's Run).
The band changed the song's title to 'Marilah Berlari' (Let's Run), as well as some lines.
'It was actually easy to redo the song. The difficult part was when we had to decide which adaptation we would use because we had prepared so many versions,' vocalist Aqi Singgih said as quoted by kapanlagi.com.
Aqi hoped the song would encourage people to exercise more, specifically running.
'The idea was from Indo Runners [a running club]. And I think 'Marilah Kemari' is an ideal soundtrack for Mari Lari. The song reminds us of our childhood ' it's a classic,' drummer Fajar Arifan said.
