Kawanku/Sendie

JAKARTA: Pop band Alexa has recorded a cover the song that was made popular by legendary singer Titiek Puspa, "Marilah Kemari'€ (Come Here), to be the soundtrack for Mari Lari (Let'€™s Run).

The band changed the song'€™s title to '€œMarilah Berlari'€ (Let's Run), as well as some lines.

'€œIt was actually easy to redo the song. The difficult part was when we had to decide which adaptation we would use because we had prepared so many versions,'€ vocalist Aqi Singgih said as quoted by kapanlagi.com.

Aqi hoped the song would encourage people to exercise more, specifically running.

'€œThe idea was from Indo Runners [a running club]. And I think 'Marilah Kemari' is an ideal soundtrack for Mari Lari. The song reminds us of our childhood '€” it'€™s a classic,'€ drummer Fajar Arifan said.
