Robber blind after victim fights back

A

robbery suspect, Irwan, 27, is blind after one of his victims, trying to fight him off, threw cleaning agent in his face, Cileduk Police said on Saturday.

Comr. Imam Santoso, Cileduk Police chief, said that Irwan was treated in Sari Asih Cileduk Hospital and later transferred to Kramatjati Police Hospital, E. Jakarta.

'€œHis wounds have healed but he can no longer see,'€ he said.

Suikim, 38, one of Irwan'€™s victims, remains at Sari Asih Cileduk Hospital undergoing treatment. Suikim'€™s husband, Cun Hun En or Ricki, 50, was killed by Irwan as he attempted to rob the couple'€™s grocery shop in Kreo, Cileduk.

On March 11, Irwan attempted to break into Ricki'€™s house and stabbed the man 11 times, leaving him for dead, before running into Suikim. Suikim saw him holding a bloody knife, so she grabbed a dagger to protect herself.
