Government recruit 100,000 people

The Administrative Reforms Ministry will apply online registration to recruit 100,000 employees for various positions this year.

Administrative Reforms Minister Azwar Abubakar said that the ministry had cut several requirements, such as health examination letters, to encourage more participants.

Azwar said, however, that potential participants would need to provide some documents immediately after they had passed the online registration in July.

'€œBased on calculations from past experience, we could save Rp 150 billion [US$12.51 million] by excluding the letters,'€ he said.

He said that the civil servant enrolment test, which would be held in August, would not require the government to add more computers.

He added that the civil servant enrolment test would make use of existing computers, both at central and regional government offices and require about Rp 10 billion of the state budget.

Azwar said that the government would employ 65,000 civil servants and 35,000 officials on contract.

He explained that the openings were at 59 ministries and agencies. The openings were also at 377 regencies/cities at 405 provincial administrations in 28 provinces across the country.

The ministry and the State Civil Servant Agency would hold a simulation of the computer-based test in six big cities. The simulation will be held to introduce the computer-based test to potential participants in Bandung, Denpasar, Semarang, Surabaya, Makassar and Medan in July.
