MY GADGET: Marischka Prudence: And away we go'€¦

Travel blogger Marischka Prudence fell in love with traveling when she was working as a journalist for a news station.

As a reporter, Marischka was often deployed by her office to cover natural disasters in various places across the archipelago.

The more coverage Marischka did, the more journeys and travels she experienced '€” and she began documenting what she saw and had gone through via various social media channels and her own blog.

Now a fulltime travel blogger, Marischka says she relies on compact and mobile gadgets to record her trips to various places all over the world. In addition, Marischka has installed a bunch of travel apps on her smartphone to help her adapt to new places '€” or to assist her in finding the best rates for her travelling needs.

Here'€™s what Marischka says are her key gadgets:

Cameras

A camera is the most important gadget for a travel blogger. I prefer using mirrorless cameras, because they are easier to operate, lighter and smaller '€” yet they deliver great results, like digital single-lens reflex (DSLR) cameras.

I am currently using a Samsung NX300 camera. Samsung is my official sponsor and they provided me with this camera. I initially used my own preferred camera, but after I tested the Samsung camera and was happy with the results, I decided to use this one for my travel blogging. I even bought various lenses to complement and to enhance the camera.

Smartphones

I also use a smartphone for mobile blogging and sharing my travel experiences on the go. I put important notes on my phone like the name of locations, new contacts and other tings related to my travel.

I have used both iOs and Android based smart phones and I must say that I like the Android system better for my travelling needs. I find Android smartphones are much more user friendly and allow me to connect to the Internet easier than iOs.

I do not like changing cameras often but I do like having new smartphones from time to time. When other girls love to purchase bags, I love buying mobile gadgets.

Apps

I installed Skyscanner on my smartphone. This app helps me a lot in getting the best airline fares. I also installed Wego and Agoda to help me finding cheap affordable accommodations and Flight Radar to check the whereabouts of planes should there be a delay.
