AKARTA: Muslim wear designer Dian Pelangi says she is currently busy preparing for her upcoming shows at New York Fashion Week and DC Fashion Week in September.

She said she would present designs made mostly of tenun woven cloth for the shows.

'€œI will showcase my tenun collection. I have made new designs that have been modified to fit the style of people there,'€ she said.

Dian said unlike her other collections, which are usually multicolored, the collection for the US shows would be more mature and a little darker.

'€œThe outfits will be in maroon, black, dark green and brown. I'€™m trying to adjust to the market there,'€ she said, adding that she was currently working on the details of the clothes.  

Although she will present a Muslim wear collection, she said her outfits could still be worn by those who do not wear a hijab.
