Fire razes home, school in South Jakarta

hile residents were celebrating Idul Fitri, a flash fire ripped through a residential area in Grogol Utara, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, on Wednesday.

Jaka, a resident who witnessed the incident, said the fire started at a house on Jl. An-Nur Mosque and spread to an elementary school building.

Residents helped the fire crew put out the fire.

'€œThe fire was extinguished within 30 minutes,'€ Jaka said as quoted by beritajakarta.com.

A representative from the South Jakarta council, Edi Sucipto, said the fire was caused by a short circuit.

The police investigation is ongoing.
