Fifth SCHMI to be held in November

tandard Chartered Bank has announced the fifth edition of its half-marathon race known as Standard Chartered Half-Marathon Indonesia (SCHMI), which has been slated to take place on Nov. 23 at BSD Green Office Park, Tangerang.

There will be four race categories; 21K (half marathon), 10K, 5K and a 2.5K fun run aimed at children and families.

Those interested in taking part in the three main categories can sign up online beginning Aug. 23 via standardchartered.co.id, the bank'€™s Facebook page, jakartafreespirit.org and ikutlomba.com. In-person registration is open at Dharmawangsa Square City Walk no. 34. Fun run registration will be open on the day of the event.

'€œThis year'€™s event is special because this will mark the first time we cooperate with the Indonesian Athletic Federation (PB PASI),'€ the bank'€™s chief executive officer, Shee Tse Koon, told a press conference on Tuesday.

'€œThis competition has received a PASI Permit, a permit we issued for competitions that have met the race standards set by the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF),'€ PB PASI'€™s secretary- general ,Tigor M Tanjung, said.

National runners can use the race to tryout for upcoming competitions.
