Busyro intends to teach after retiring from KPK

C

orruption Eradication Commission (KPK) commissioner Busyro Muqoddas said he would return to his previous job as a lecturer after retiring from the KPK this December.

'€œI will go back to campus,'€ he said on Wednesday, as quoted by tempo.co.

Before having been elected by legislators as KPK leader in 2010, Busyro had been registered as a lecturer at the Indonesia Islamic University'€™s law school since 1983.

Many anti-graft activists had earlier urged Busyro to run for a second term as KPK leader. However, this might force him to start over again at the first stages of the recruitment process.

The government had formed a selection committee, led by Law and Human Rights Minister Amir Syamsuddin, and tasked it to garner potential candidates to replace Busyro. (alz)
