AKARTA: Sharia insurance company Asuransi Astra Syariah has been awarded the Best Syariah Investor award for 2014 in the category of general sharia insurance with assets worth more than Rp 100 billion. The award was handed to the company at a ceremony on Aug. 13.
'Obviously, we are very grateful to receive this award. More than that, however, this award is a mandate from our customers to continue our efforts in providing them with a sense of safety and security,' said Asuransi Astra sharia business vice president Tati Febriyanti.
During this ninth year of it being rewarded, Best Syariah Investor 2014 recognized 16 sharia financial institutions, 10 sharia financial products and three sharia financial figures in Indonesia.
Juries of the award assessed nominees based on the overall performances of their respective sharia insurance businesses.
The scoring process was done based on several components with different measures: financial risk carried 30 percent of the weight, efficiency and profitability 25 percent, business growth 20 percent, prudentiality 20 percent and corporate social responsibility (CSR) five percent.
