he Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) closed on a positive note in Wednesday's final trading session, rising significantly by 1.12 percent to 5,188.18.
Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) data showed that 248 traded stocks strengthened in the afternoon, while 64 stocks weakened and 87 stocks remained stable, kontan.co.id reported.
Shares in all 10 sectors traded on the IDX recorded improvements with construction leading the list, rising by 2.25 percent.
Miscellaneous industries recorded the smallest improvement among the 10 sectors with a rise of 0.59 percent.
The volume of trade during the closing session involved 5.57 billion shares worth Rp 5.45 trillion (US$ 457.8 million) in 219,710 transactions.
Shares on the LQ45 index that saw the highest gains by 4 p.m. on Wednesday were those belonging to PT Bumi Serpong Damai (BSDE), PT Lippo Karawaci (LPKR) and PT Pakuwon Jati (PWON). (nfo)(++++)
