A group of 12th grade students in SMA 70 high school in Bulungan, South Jakarta, have been skipping school since Monday in protest at the school's decision to expel 13 students from the same grade.
The school administration expelled the 13 students for having allegedly bullied a 10th grade student. 'They do not want to go school since they think that the school is not providing a conducive atmosphere for studying,' Oki, a representative of the school committee, said on Wednesday.

It is good decision made by the school!

I should note there is a mistake in the information ' the students actually have been skipping school since Tuesday, not Monday. The 12th grade students did get a day off on Monday because the 10th & 11th grade students still had exams.

The problem here is that the parents of the children honestly believe their children are good and not bullies. I know this from experience as I was bullied by one kid at school, who also bullied many others.
His parents thought he was an angel when they were confronted with the facts by all the parents of the bullied kids.

The school obviously carried out a lot of arbitrary expelling because they are not used to the legal and democratic ways of doing things.
This is a very good lesson for them and schools are the perfect places to start the process. Protests and demonstrations will confront them and, in some cases, the people who run these schools will be forced to eat their words and a new, transparent, democratic and lawful process will be born. This is great.
