T

he National Police'€™s Densus 88 counterterrorism unit has arrested five people in Bima, West Nusa Tenggara, over their alleged roles in terrorist groups.

Bima Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. IGPG Ekawanan refused to give comment but a police field operative who requested anonymity confirmed the arrest.

'€œThere has been an arrest but we can still provide further comment,'€ the operative said on Saturday as quoted by tempo.co.

The operative added that the police had confiscated several rifles along with banners and flags of the Islamic State movement. The police were reportedly forced to shoot at one of the suspects who was resisting arrest.

All five suspects would be taken to Jakarta via Lombok for further questioning, according to the operative. (dic)
