adjah Mada University (UGM), Indonesia's oldest university, has delivered its 'White Book' (Sapta Adicitta UGM) on crucial and strategic national issues to president-elect Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo, who will lead the country starting next month.
UGM Rector Pratikno handed the book to Jaleswari Pramodhawardhani, a representative of Jokowi's transition team, during Indonesian Maritime Congress at the university's rectorate building in Yogyakarta on Tuesday.
Pratikno said that the book aimed to give advice to the upcoming government under the leadership of Jokowi, who graduated from UGM in 1985.
He said he hoped Jokowi would read the White Book and considered the advice written in it when he was making policies on the country's strategic issues.
'This book consists of seven chapters. Each chapter is a result of thinking from our academics on the development of Indonesia,' UGM vice rector Dwikorita Karnawati said, as quoted by Antara news agency.
She said that 74 academics participated in writing the book. (alz)
