uhammadiyah University of Yogyakarta (UMY), in conjunction with Muhammadiyah Hospital, has established a cooperation with Munster Klinikum University and the German Ministry of Health to set up an integrated cardiovascular and cancer treatment center.
The cooperation kicked off with a three-day roundtable discussion and workshop on Tuesday at Asri Medical Center. President of the German-Indonesia Medical Association, Prof. Dr. Jorg Haier LL. M, said the discussion and workshop were expected to generate strategies for tackling the challenges to delivering effective cardiovascular and cancer treatment in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, chairman of steering committee of the Muhammadiyah Cardiovascular Center, Prof. Dr. Rasjid Soeparwata, said the center would create a useful alternative to seeking medical treatment overseas.
