Among the controversial figures in the list included National Police chief for education and training, Comr. Gen. Budi Gunawan, who in 2010 was alleged to have bank accounts of dubious origins.
Budi is the confidant of chairwoman of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), Megawati Soekarnoputri.
Other controversial figure includes RJ Lino, the president director of state port operator PT Pelindo II, who was summoned by the KPK in April after allegations of irregularities in the purchase of port equipment worth in excess of US$20 million.
Lino has repeatedly denied the allegations.
Jokowi said he would base the selection of his Cabinet members on the screening results carried out by the KPK.
"If the candidate fails to pass the screening then he or she will have no chance of becoming minister," Jokowi said on Thursday. (ren/nvn)
