ormer president BJ Habibie's health is back to normal after a health scare that saw him hospitalized in Bandung's Borromeus Hospital in West Java on Monday.
Habibie's personal secretary, Rubijanto, said that after three days in hospital, Habibie's doctors had presented Indonesia's third president with a clean bill of health stating that he suffered no serious illnesses.
'I can confirm that Habibie's health is back to normal and he has gone home. Doctors said that he had only suffered from exhaustion, and not any new illness,' Rubijanto said on Thursday, as quoted by tribunnews.com.
Borromeus Hospital allowed Habibie to go home Tuesday after his condition had slowly improved, after being admitted to hospital on Monday night. During his stay, he was seen by a cardiologist.
Earlier on Monday morning, Habibie had attended the inauguration of President Joko Widodo at the People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) and House of Representatives (DPR) complex in South Jakarta.
Borromeus released a statement on Tuesday saying that Habibie 'only came to the hospital for a medical check-up and went through the emergency room because the polyclinics are closed at night'.
BJ Habibie was the president of Indonesia between 1998 and 1999, following the end of Soeharto's 32-year rule in 1998. (dyl/nfo)(++++)
