Singaporean Interpol fugitive nabbed in Batam

I

mmigration Agency officers have arrested a Singaporean man identified as Lim Yong Nam, who has been wanted by Interpol since early this year. Immigration officials detected Lim'€™s presence after spotting his name on the fugitive list.

Irwanto Suhaili of the Batam Immigration Agency said on Friday that the agency had taken Lim into custody but remained in the dark regarding the felony that he was suspected of having committed.

'€œThe list says nothing regarding the crime. We are just helping Interpol,'€ he said.

Irwanto revealed that Lim would be handed over to the police for further investigations.

Officials from the Singaporean Consulate-General were assigned to provide assistance to Lim during the preliminary questioning at the Immigration Agency office.(dic)(++++)
