The four storehouses belonging to four private companies and housing spare car parts caught fire at 12:30 a.m. and the fire, which was allegedly triggered by a short circuit at a storehouse belonging to PT Mita Jaya Sentosa, spread rapidly to other storehouses.
The fire was put out five hours after the North Jakarta Fire Extinguishment and Handling of Disaster Agency deployed 20 fire trucks.
'The fire was put out after the fire squad and trucks worked for five hours. There were no fatalities but the disaster caused around Rp 2 billion in losses,' head of the agency's operational section Muchtar Zakaria said as quoted by kompas.com.
