ity Police investigators would need approximately one more week to complete the dossiers on three men accused of blackmail using Twitter account @TrioMacan2000.
'We still need time for completion, around a week or so,' Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Rikwanto said Wednesday.
Rikwanto said the investigators only needed to complete several more details before submitting the dossiers of Edi Saputra, Raden Nuh and Hari Koeshardjono to the prosecutor's office before the case was brought to court.
The police arrested the three men on Nov. 3 after receiving reports from two officials of state-owned telephone operator PT Telkom Indonesia, Arif Prabowo and Abdul Satar.
According to the police, they allegedly posted infidelity and corruption rumors on the Twitter account and would only take them down in exchange for large sums of money.
Rikwanto said that the three men could be charged with defamation and blackmail under multiple articles of the 2008 electronic information and transactions (ITE) law and the Criminal Code. (***)
