The government has the right to increase the prices of subsidized fuels for good or bad.

The intention to file a petition over the fuel-price increases is nonsensical; the nation understands it was a long time coming and is getting to grips with it. This is a subtle attack, the first of many 'inquiry rights' with a single purpose, namely to seek out a route to impeach President Jokowi.
The lawmakers should focus on being active in seeking solutions to the many problems the nation faces and not huddle over the rule book seeking ways to cause problems and disrupt the President's long-awaited and welcome vision for the future of Indonesia.

There will always be a large percentage of people, who will never understand a decision that affects them financially. Then there is the group who will fight any of Jokowi's decisions because they are angry that their candidate did not get elected.

The increase in subsidized-fuel prices is understandable taking into consideration the huge impact it has on the state budget. It has to be paired with tackling the major issue in government affairs and the budget: corruption, which definitely has a harder impact.

The House of Representatives should present themselves accordingly, people wise and not party wise, before being able to really represent the people.
Their desire to exercise their intention to file a petition that the House exercise its inquiry right into President Jokowi over the increase in the prices of subsidized fuels, looks more like showing the people they represent that they really do voice the peoples' desire to keep the fuel subsidies intact.
This way they can justify their current time-wasting bickering among themselves to the people. Fortunately our new President easily reads the true intention of the House and therefore continues working to save the long-suffering populace.
