The Bekasi administration has allocated Rp 142 billion (US$11 million) to renovate 128 school buildings this year.
'The damage varies from light to heavy,' Buildings and Fire Fighter Agency head Dadan Ginanjar said on Sunday, as quoted by tempo.co.
He pointed out that the school buildings comprised elementary schools, junior high schools, senior high schools and vocational schools. The number was higher than last year's figure, which stood at 95 buildings.
Dadang said the 2015 renovation project was part of its long-term plan to renovate all damaged school buildings by 2018. (***)
