The Culture and Elementary and Secondary Education Ministry is currently brewing up the details for a new directorate on parenting education, which critics have said is unnecessary amid the country's education reform.
Your comments:
A directorate to provide parents training and information on the newest methods in education is a very worthwhile initiative.
Of course those comments would be made by the FSGI, because they (teachers and principals) rarely if ever provide parents with information that can help them determine best practices and them to gauge the progress of the school.
Education is like a three-legged stool, one leg the students, one the principals and teachers and one the parents.
In Indonesia, everyone wants education to be a two-legged stool: one leg the students and the second principals and teachers. Needless to say, the stool falls, much like education in Indonesia.

While communication with parents is very important, a directorate is not the best way to go about it. Presumably its responsibilities will include the supervision of compulsory school attendance with the introduction of the 12-year compulsory education law.
