ational flag carrier Garuda Indonesia plans to expand its international network to new points in China this year in order to take advantage of the growing demand for leisure travel.
Garuda president director M. Arif Wibowo said the carrier planned to fly to nine cities across China in 2015, offering both regular and chartered flight services.
'We are currently flying to three cities in China and this year we are going to add nine more cities,' Arif said on Friday as quoted by kontan.co.id.
Currently, Garuda flies daily from Jakarta to Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.
Garuda also opened the Denpasar-Beijing route on Jan. 13 to attract more Chinese tourists, especially first-time travelers to Indonesia, to Bali, the country's most popular destination.
The nine Chinese cities are Chengdu, Chong Qin, Ningbo, Kunming, Jinan, Harbin, Xian, Shenyang and Chengzhou.
Garuda will connect them with Denpasar and Manado, North Sulawesi. (nfo)(++++)
