Comments on other issues; Lawmaker slams Jokowi'€™s policies

President Joko '€œJokowi'€ Widodo is under fire from some members of his own party, the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), who deem that he has failed to deliver fruitful programs as he approaches his first 100 days in office.

Slamming Jokowi'€™s indecisiveness in responding to the current crisis between the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the
National Police, several PDI-P politicians said Jokowi'€™s weak response on the matter had opened the door to impeachment.

'€œNow is the time to impeach [Jokowi] because there are many opportunities to attack,'€ PDI-P lawmaker Effendi Simbolon told a discussion examining the President'€™s first 100 days in the job.

During the discussion, Effendi said Jokowi was not ready to be the country'€™s top leader.

Your comments:

Jokowi is not a Mandela or Gandhi who got there through decades of struggle and humiliation.

If Puan has power, Mega'€™s will be done, and the KPK disbanded and then... revolt! The public
hates Mega.

Alas, I cannot now see a scenario in which we do not hit public revolt.

This is a clear plan to throw Jokowi under the bus and destroy the KPK to keep the elite safe from prosecution.

The public can see that and when it happens.

Do you think Jokowi will get to the end of his five years?

I think it is only a matter of time before he gets the push, especially if the KPK gets too close to certain high-up people.

'€œJokowi [...] not ready to be the country'€™s top leader'€. Dissident voices even from his own party, not forgetting the wolves at the Red-and-White Coalition ever so ready to pounce on him.

Unless the President can pull himself up by his own bootstraps within the next few weeks, his fate is sealed.

He should count himself lucky to survive the next five years as a lame-duck head of state.

Look around, since President Widodo stood for the position, who among world leaders now supports him? Do you think the world'€™s leaders will idly stand by and wag their fingers?

When we think in terms of trillions of US dollars in investments, do you honestly think that SBY, Mega, Prabowo and Aburizal have a hope of leading this country?

Indonesia has been buried in corruption for most of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st. Jokowi may need 500 days to make a difference, but my friends at this time he is!

Like the becak driver on the corner, he knows how to play chess, unlike the privileged others who are arrogant and cynical.

In government, sometimes the biggest snakes and backstabbers are the ones who smile in your face, kiss your cheek and come to your home as friends.

Does this sound like Effendi? Very similar to '€œoffend'€ or '€œoffended'€.

Effendi, you should get on your knees and grovel at the feet of a good man. You are the Indonesian that we don'€™t need or want.
