Prime Minister David Cameron will attend a remembrance service at Parliament to remember Churchill's leadership during World War II.
Later Friday the Havengore, the boat that carried the statesman's coffin along the Thames in 1965, will carry Churchill's family as it retraces its journey down the river.
Tower Bridge will be raised as the boat and a small flotilla travels to the Houses of Parliament.
