joint force comprised of officials from state-owned power company PT PLN, military personnel and police officers will raid an illegal electricity station in Pejagalan subdistrict in North Jakarta following a fire accident that affected 80 houses in the area a few days ago.
Pejagalan subdistrict head Alamsyah said on Saturday that the raid would be conducted to reduce the number of fires that are usually caused by a short circuit.
'In accordance with the instructions of Jakarta Deputy Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat, all electricity installations in the houses in Pejagalan should be examined,' he said, as quoted by beritajakarta.com.
Alamsah said his subordinates would warn the residents about the upcoming raid.
'If we find out that they have illegal installations, we will immediately cut off the power. The officers from PLN will help sweep the houses,' he said.
