A

joint force comprised of officials from state-owned power company PT PLN, military personnel and police officers will raid an illegal electricity station in Pejagalan subdistrict in North Jakarta following a fire accident that affected 80 houses in the area a few days ago.

Pejagalan subdistrict head Alamsyah said on Saturday that the raid would be conducted to reduce the number of fires that are usually caused by a short circuit.

'€œIn accordance with the instructions of Jakarta Deputy Governor Djarot Saiful Hidayat, all electricity installations in the houses in Pejagalan should be examined,'€ he said, as quoted by beritajakarta.com.

Alamsah said his subordinates would warn the residents about the upcoming raid.

'€œIf we find out that they have illegal installations, we will immediately cut off the power. The officers from PLN will help sweep the houses,'€ he said.
