angerang regency has 114 kilometers worth of damaged roads, according to a top official at the Bina Marga (Roads) and Water Management Agency.
Agency head Iwan Firmansyah said the regency lacked funding to fix the damaged roads, located in 10 different areas.
'In total, the damaged roads in Tangerang regency amount to 114 kilometers. Each kilometer needs at least Rp 200 million [US$15,110] to Rp 300 million to fix. However, our regency lacks funding for such projects,' Iwan said as reported by wartakota.tribunnews.com.
He went on to say that the regency spent roughly Rp 50 million on each km, which was enough for periodical maintenance but not the full maintenance required.
'The funding is not proportional compared to the amount of damaged roads,' Iwan said.
