Amid allegations over Jakarta councilors'€™ questionable draft 2015 city budget, Governor Basuki '€œAhok'€ Tjahaja Purnama has acknowledged that the executive'€™s draft budget was also flawed, as it included Rp 1.5 trillion (US$111 million) worth of dana siluman (sneaky budget) entries.

According to an evaluation by the Home Ministry, the executive'€™s budget included, among other things, two allocations for uninterruptible power supply (UPS) devices, at the Financial and Asset Management Body (BPKAD) for Rp 1.5 billion and the East Jakarta Communications and Information Agency for Rp 188 million.

Your comments:

You'€™ve accused the city administration officials who had access to the e-budget of being involved in dana siluman, but you should always be careful in making statements in public to corner people who may be innocent.

Be slow to speak and quick to listen, governor! Engage your brain before your mouth. These officials may feel offended or insulted, and they may question you or even sue you for falsely accusing them.

We appreciate your honesty but think thoroughly, tactfully and wisely before you utter anything. This country has a legal system, and you may be proved wrong in court.

Allow me also to suggest you tone down your confrontational nature a little; do not point your finger, as this is a very rude gesture in our Asian culture.

However, we support you and pray for your success in the fight against corruption, which impoverishes the people of this country.
