New flash: Water campaign through songs more effective

The water campaign will be more effective if done through songs as it is easier for the public to catch on, according to a musician.

Through songs, musicians can remind the people of the importance of consuming water wisely. '€œThe excessive consumption of water may pose a threat to the water supply,'€ said Bimo Setiawan Al Machzumi, popularly known as Bimbim, a drummer from the band Slank.

'€œMany Slankers [the group'€™s fans] listen to our songs [about water] which drive them to care [for water],'€ he was quoted by tempo.co as saying following the group'€™s performance on Sunday.

He said the group'€™s song titled '€œWater Crisis'€ was inspired by a dried and barren land in Africa. In the region, many children and adults are forced to walk eight kilometers in order to get fresh water.

In conjunction with the celebration of this year'€™s World Water Day, Bimbim expressed the hope that people could use water efficiently by building biophores that can both store rain water and contain the excessive absorbing of soil water.
