ertamina Trans Kontinental, a subsidiary of state oil and gas company Pertamina (Persero), has added seven vessels worth Rp 650 billion (US$50 million) to help it achieve its revenue target, an official has said.
Pertamina marketing director Ahmad Bambang said the seven vessels comprised two anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels and five harbor tugs.
'The revenue target of the seven vessels in 2015 amounts to around Rp 115 billion,' he said as quoted by Antara news agency in Jakarta on Sunday.
The vessels were built at PT Batamec and PT Dry Dock World Pertama (DDW) dockyards.
Bambang officially received the vessels from Batamec director Mok KimWhang and DDW senior general manager Chua Peng Chua at the Batamec dockyard in Batam on Friday.
He said the vessels would replace Pertamina's existing vessels that had operated for more than 30 years. 'This is part of the company's efforts to achieve budget efficiency. It's concerned about replacing chartered vessels and to develop its business it will also serve companies other than Pertamina,' he said.
Bambang said the vessels would be used to support off shore-oil and gas exploration, to operate Pertamina's special ports and to distribute oil and gas to ensure the available supply of oil and gas in areas across Indonesia.
Pertamina Trans Kontinental (PTK) president director Subagjo Hari Moeljanto said the operation of the new AHTS vessels would cost $9,000 per vessel per day and $3,400 per vehicle per day for harbor tugs.
'Two AHTS vessels will be operated to serve Total E&P Indonesia in waters in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. The harbor tugs are to be operated in Pertamina's oil and gas terminals with long term contracts,' said Subagjo.
Currently, the PTK is reportedly operating 27 vessels. (ebf)(+++)
