Indonesian arrested in Thailand with 5.2 kg of cocaine

emani Ikhsan, 63, an Indonesian citizen, has been arrested by Thai authorities in the resort island of Phuket after attempting to smuggle in 5.2 kilograms of cocaine.

"The consul will provide the necessary legal assistance [to Jemani]," said the Foreign Ministry's director for citizen protection Lalu Muhammad Iqbal as quoted by tribunnews.com on Thursday.

Jemani, a retired government official, was arrested at Phuket International Airport as customs officials were suspicious of his itinerary after he had travelled to Colombia, Panama, Brazil, Qatar and Singapore prior to landing in Phuket. (ren)(+++)
