orruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators did not detain former Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) chairman Hadi Poernomo after grilling him for the first time as a suspect for seven hours in a high-profile tax case involving Bank Central Asia (BCA) on Thursday.
Hadi, who looked weak after questioning, finally met the KPK summons on Thursday after he withdrew his pretrial petition on April 14. He had refused to honor three KPK summons in the case since March 16.
Shortly after being questioned, Hadi told reporters that more individuals could be involved in the case.
'The investigators asked me 10 questions. [As for other parties involved], please ask KPK investigators, don't ask me because I don't want talk about the content of the investigation,' Hadi said.
The KPK named Hadi a suspect for his decision during his tenure as director general for taxation 2002 and 2004 to unilaterally approve a request by BCA for income-tax leniency, a decision that the KPK said had caused Rp 375 billion in state losses ' the amount in taxes that BCA should have paid to the state.
