ocial Affairs Minister Khofifah Indar Parawansa made a visit on Sunday to the Sirnarasa pesantren (Islamic boarding school) in the mountainous resort area of Ciamis, West Java, which provides rehabilitation services to drug users.
During the visit, the minister called on students and locals to avoid taking narcotics.
'We should keep a distance from drug traffickers and terrorists because illegal drugs can kill and damage morality,' she said when visiting the pesantren in Cijantung, Ciamis.
The minister also said that students and villagers should be selective when buying foods and beverages because drugs could be inserted into products without buyers' knowledge.
'The latest method is that drugs and marijuana are inserted into pies and such a method could endanger buyers,' she said as quoted by Antara news agency.
The minister also called on parents to closely monitor their own children to prevent them from being involved in drug trafficking and using illegal drugs. (rms)(++++)
